You Cannot Out-Dream God’s Plans for You



As human beings, we often have dreams and aspirations that we hope to achieve in our lives. These dreams could be personal, professional, or even spiritual. However, many times, we tend to limit ourselves by our own abilities, resources or even the magnitude of the dream. We think that we have dreamed too big or that our dreams are too small. But the truth is that we cannot out-dream God's plans for us.



When we were young, we had big dreams and aspirations. We believed in ourselves and our abilities. We believed that we could be anything we wanted to be. We dreamed of becoming doctors, lawyers, astronauts, or even superheroes. However, as we grow older, we tend to lose sight of those dreams. We become more practical and realistic. We start to doubt our abilities and question whether our dreams are achievable.



But God's plans for us are greater than our own dreams. The Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This verse reminds us that God has a plan for our lives, and that plan is good. It is a plan for our prosperity, not for our harm. It is a plan for our hope and future.



God's Plans Are Bigger Than Our Dreams



God's plans for us are far greater than anything we could ever dream of. Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." This verse reminds us that God is able to do more than we can ask or even imagine. His power is at work within us, and He is able to bring to pass His plans for our lives.



God's plans for us may not always be what we expect or what we think we want, but they are always good. Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails." This verse reminds us that even though we may have many plans in our hearts, it is ultimately God's purpose that will prevail. His plans are always greater than our own.



When we trust in God's plans for us, we can be assured that He will guide us in the right direction. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." This verse encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not to rely on our own understanding. When we submit to Him, He will make our paths straight.



God's Plans Are Personalized for Us



God's plans for us are not generic or one-size-fits-all. They are personalized for each one of us. Psalm 139:16 says, "Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." This verse reminds us that God knows us intimately and has a plan for our lives that was written before we were even born.



God's plans for us take into account our unique abilities, gifts, and passions. He has created each one of us for a specific purpose. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 says, "There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good." This verse reminds us that God has given each one of us different gifts and abilities to serve Him and others.



God's Plans Are Eternal



God's plans for us are not just for this life, but for all of eternity. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 says, "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." This verse reminds us that even though we may face difficulties and trials in this life, they are nothing compared to the eternal glory that awaits us.



When we trust in God's plans for us, we can have peace and assurance that He is in control. Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." This verse reminds us that even though we may not understand everything that happens in our lives, God is working all things together for our good.



Conclusion



As we journey through life, we may have dreams and aspirations that we hope to achieve. However, we must remember that God's plans for us are greater than our own dreams. His plans are personalized for each one of us, taking into account our unique abilities and gifts. His plans are eternal, not just for this life, but for all of eternity.



When we trust in God's plans for us, we can have peace and assurance that He is in control. We may not always understand His plans or why certain things happen in our lives, but we can trust that He is working all things together for our good. So let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and trust in His plans for our lives. For we cannot out-dream God's plans for us.
