Five Ways We Fight for Children

Less than a week ago, a video was released that provided damning evidence that Planned Parenthood was selling the body parts of infant corpses. Christians immediately took to social media calling Planned Parenthood actions “inhumane” and “barbaric.” Many demanded that the government defund the organization and others insisted that they be shut down.

As Christians, we have a responsibility to protect and fight for the lives of children. It's not enough to simply protest online or demand change from the government. We must take action in our own lives and communities to make a difference. Here are five ways we can fight for children:

1. Support Adoption and Foster Care

One of the most tangible ways we can fight for children is by supporting adoption and foster care. There are countless children in need of loving homes, and as Christians, we are called to care for the orphaned and vulnerable. By opening our hearts and homes to these children, we can provide them with a safe and loving environment to grow and thrive. Adoption and foster care are not only acts of compassion, but they also reflect the heart of God, who has adopted us as His own children.

Scripture Reference: James 1:27 - "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."

2. Advocate for Pro-Life Policies

Another way we can fight for children is by advocating for pro-life policies. This means standing up for the rights and protection of unborn children. We can do this by supporting organizations that work to protect the lives of the unborn, contacting our elected officials to express our views, and participating in peaceful protests and demonstrations. It's important to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves and to defend the sanctity of life.

Scripture Reference: Psalm 139:13-16 - "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them."

3. Educate and Equip Families

Education is a powerful tool in the fight for children. By equipping families with the knowledge and resources they need to raise their children well, we can make a lasting impact. This includes providing parenting classes, resources on child development, and support for families facing difficult circumstances. When we invest in the well-being and success of families, we are investing in the future of our children.

Scripture Reference: Proverbs 22:6 - "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

4. Support Anti-Trafficking Efforts

Child trafficking is a horrific reality in our world today. By supporting anti-trafficking efforts, we can help rescue and restore children who have been trapped in this evil industry. This can be done through financial support of organizations fighting against trafficking, volunteering in local initiatives, and raising awareness about the issue. Every child deserves to live free from exploitation and abuse.

Scripture Reference: Proverbs 31:8-9 - "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy."

5. Pray for the Next Generation

Prayer is a powerful weapon in the fight for children. We can pray for the protection, guidance, and salvation of the next generation. By interceding on behalf of children, we are inviting God to work in their lives and bring about transformation. Prayer is not a passive act, but an active pursuit of God's will and intervention in the lives of children.

Scripture Reference: Matthew 19:14 - "But Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.'

Conclusion

As Christians, we are called to fight for the lives and well-being of children. We must go beyond online protests and demand change. By supporting adoption and foster care, advocating for pro-life policies, educating and equipping families, supporting anti-trafficking efforts, and praying for the next generation, we can make a lasting impact. Let us be a voice for the voiceless and a beacon of hope for children in need.

Remember, it's not enough to simply be against something. We must actively fight for what is right and just. Let us be known for our love, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of children. Together, we can make a difference.
