Discovering the Love That Completes and Transforms Us

Discovering the Love That Will Complete You

Do you ever feel incomplete? Like there is something missing in your life that you just can’t put your finger on? Perhaps you have tried various solutions to fill the void, but nothing seems to work. The Apostle Paul assures us in Philippians 1:6 that God, who began a good work in us, will bring it to completion. The love of God is the answer that we seek, the love that will complete us.

The Love That Begins the Work in Us

God's love is the foundation of our relationship with Him. It is the love that initiated the good work in us, and it is the love that sustains the work. The Bible tells us, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). This love is unconditional, selfless, and sacrificial. It is the kind of love that we cannot earn or deserve.

God's love for us is not based on our performance, but on His character. It is a love that is unchanging, regardless of our circumstances. In Romans 8:38-39, Paul writes, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

This love is not just something we hear about, but something we experience. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we become children of God. We know this because 1 John 3:1 tells us, “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.”

The Love That Sustains the Work in Us

God's love is not only the foundation of our relationship with Him, but it is also the love that sustains the good work in us. As believers, we are called to grow and mature in our faith. This process can be difficult and challenging, but we can be confident that God's love will sustain us.

Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, “Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.” It is God's love that gives us the strength to endure and overcome challenges in our lives.

Furthermore, God's love is not just for us to keep to ourselves. We are called to share it with others. Jesus tells us in John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

The Love That Will Complete Us

One day, we will be complete in Christ. When Christ returns, He will make all things new. Revelation 21:4-5 says, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. And he who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’”

Until then, we are called to press on in our faith. Paul writes in Philippians 3:12-14, “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

We can be confident that God's love will complete us because He has promised to do so. Philippians 1:6 says, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” We can trust in God's love to sustain us and complete us.

The Love That Changes Everything

The love of God changes everything. It is the love that transforms us from the inside out. When we experience the love of God, we are no longer the same. The Apostle John tells us in 1 John 4:19, “We love because he first loved us.”

God's love for us is so great that it motivates us to love others. It is the love that enables us to forgive those who have wronged us. It is the love that empowers us to serve others selflessly. It is the love that unites us as brothers and sisters in Christ.

When we experience the love of God, we are filled with joy, peace, and hope. We no longer have to live in fear or uncertainty. God's love gives us a purpose and a mission. We are called to share this love with others and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20).

Conclusion

God's love is the answer to the emptiness and longing in our hearts. It is the love that begins the good work in us, sustains the work, and will one day complete us. It is the love that changes everything. When we experience the love of God, we are transformed from the inside out. We are filled with joy, peace, and hope. We are called to share this love with others and make disciples of all nations. Let us press on in our faith, knowing that God's love will sustain us and complete us.
